A contract has been successfully signed between SAMI and PT Kalimantan Aluminum Industry (KAI) to conduct the engineering design and service work for 1000kt/a Adaro North Kalimantan Aluminum Project in Indonesia in June, 2022.
KAI as the Owner intends to build a modern greenfield aluminum smelter at two phases in the industry park in the North Kalimantan, Indonesia, and this Project is expected to be put into operation for the first phase of 500kt/a in the first quarter of 2025.
This Project applied SAMI’s advanced popularized SY500 pot technology that is developed by SAMI with its independent intellectual property. This is the significant milestone that SAMI as Technical Provider and Designer is first time to realize the export of SY500 pot technology to Indonesia.
